I figure I should blog about this abit here. I have not been as involved with this portion of the class as I should be. It has been put on the backburner for me with so much other stuff going on right now.
What has happened so far? I have been in contact with the people Alec and Dean paired me up with and I have been able to stay in contact with one of the teachers, I just need more follow through with her to get going. The other teacher I was paired with sent me an email saying he would pair me up with some teachers from his school but I have yet to hear from them.
What I am wondering is what am I going to be able to do with the class? I have a very busy schedule and don’t have any real time to sit down and work on homework until after 8pm virtually every day except Sundays. This means I won’t be able to do anything live with the class, which is disapointing. I am sure I will be able to come up with something when I talk to my mentorship teacher.

Do you your best. We live in an asynchronous age in may cases … I am sure something is possible.
Hi Michael,
Maybe you could record a digital story and share it with the class or create a blog with some questions where your mentorship students could visit? Just a couple of suggestions, that may or may not help you out. Remember, it is the process, not the product. I don’t think it really matters “how many posts you have” or “how many times you skyped with your class.” Rather, the process of how you connected with another class that is far from here. Did you find it easy or hard to connect with them? What will you take from this assignment in your future classroom.
Dear Michael,
Before entering a mentorship it is crucial that you determine your goals and expectations with the mentorship.
I am the founder of Mentory.com (a free global mentorship community,
that facilitates the mentorship process). On Mentory we have a mentorship agreement that insures that the expectations is clear to both parties – feel free to use mentory as your tool. Thus ongoing feedback. And finally a protégé must take the full responsibility of making the mentorship work – or decide to end it.
Good luck with your future mentorship!
